born 1950, studied Art History, Philosophy and Literary studies in Hanover and Marburg/Ph.D. 1979, habilitation 1987. since 1996 owner of the chair Literature, Art, New Media and Technologies at the University of Siegen. Head of the university publishing house UniVerSi.

Speaker of the centre of cultural research "Media Upheavals" and head of the project B6, "Literature in the Net/Net Literature".
